Prince of Wales Island is the fourth largest island in the United States, after Kodiak, the big island of Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Prince of Wales Island is 135 miles long and 45 miles wide. It has an area of 2,577 sq miles. Approximately 6,000 people make their home on the island.
Mountain peaks reach over 3000 feet and the island is characterized by multiple fjords and dense forests.
